I am thrilled to release my first CD as a leader. Almost 2 years ago we recorded 3 nights of our music live at Restaurant Magnus in Madison WI, and it feels great to finally be able to get the music out. Magnus has been our home since we had our debut gig there in October of 2002, and we are looking forward to a great night of music.

CDs will be available for purchase that night, and for the rest of the world later in July via CD Baby, iTunes, Rhapsody etc etc

Thanks for all the support over the years!

Jon Schipper : trumpet
David Cooper : trumpet

04/27/08 | Orchestra Commission
I will be working on my first orchestra commission. It's going to rock....literally.

I have been commissioned to write a night of music of The Who for the Cobb Symphony Orchestra in Altlanta. The music will be orchestrated and arranged for a 55 piece orchestra as well as a five-piece band featuring myself on keys and my good friend Jamie Ryan on drums.

The premiere of this epic rock extravaganza will be March 2009.

For the first half I will be writing one long piece combining highlights from Tommy and Quadrophenia. The second half will feature Who classics such as Baba O'Riley, Join Together, and Won't Get Fooled Again.

09/16/07 | All settled in!
Well, the furniture has been bought, I'm heading into my 5th week of class, and am starting to feel settled into my new digs.

Teaching at the college level is a challenging and rewarding experience, and due to the fact that I'm not playing 200 some gigs a year I'm also feeling extremely creative. I'm looking forward to using this next phase of my life to become a better artist and educator. I've also just ordered a new guitar, and look forward to getting that back to where it should be.

I WILL be releasing my first nonet CD in early 2008. We have one more live record date, and then I'll be editing and mixing in November and December.

Stay tuned!

07/20/07 | Tim Hired to University of Toledo Jazz Faculty
I have accepted a faculty position at the University of Toledo in Ohio starting next month teaching jazz. The position is for 1 to 3 years. It's a great opportunity to continue playing and teaching at a high level, and I couldn't ask for a more perfect first college teaching job.

I'll be teaching private lessons, jazz improv, composition and arranging, and will also be accompanying and writing arrangements for the jazz vocalstra. This is a jazz group led by the legendary Jon Hendricks and his daughter Aria. Just to be around him will be incredible!
